Last weekend I had to travel home from Plymouth without a car so i used the Concord Coach line bus. It is a cheap an accessible line of transportation. For $25 i can go from Plymouth to Boston in 2 hours with just 2 stops in Tilton and Concord. Once in Boston i can get a ride home from either my parents or Uber. Travelling sometimes you have to maneuver around using public transportation. It sometimes is not as convenient as having my own vehicle but traveling sometimes you have to manage using public transportation

Two years ago my family an I went on a family vacation to Punta Cana. Punta Cana is in the Dominican Republic. We were all very excited to visit because none of us have been to the Dominican Republic before. After the plane ride we took a shuttle to our hotel. We were very fortunate to stay at the Hard Rock Resort and Casino in Punta Cana. I was so shocked at how beautiful and big the resort was.

I felt very welcomed at the resort. When my family and I first arrived we were served drinks right off the shuttle. All of the employees at the resort were so friendly and made our experience in the Dominican even better. We stayed at the resort the majority of the trip because it had everything we needed. One day we left the resort to go on an excursion. We went on ATV’s at a place 30 minutes from the resort. While on the drive I was able to see how poor the Dominican is. It was crazy how just outside the beautiful resort we were staying at was another life so different than mine. You could see how poor and underdeveloped it was.

While on the ATV’s little kids would run up to us and try to sell us flowers for money. It was so heartbreaking to see how little they were and they were trying to make money to help support their families. We all gave them all the cash we had on us because it was so sad. I wish I could have gave them everything. My family trip to Punta Cana really opened my eyes to up to whats going on in the world and how different life is for so many people. It made me want to make a change in the world. I want to be able to give back one day. I am very fortunate to have been able to visit the Dominican Republic and stay at such a beautiful resort, but I am even more fortunate for the lesson it taught me. I hope one day I will be able to give back more to the less fortunate people around the world.

This week I have been doing a bunch of research on global travel facts that are not popular in knowledge but are really cool. If for some reason you travel to one of these countries I recommend looking for some of these landmarks and areas. .An unusual fact that caught my eye is that it is offensive to salt your food in Egypt. Something I definitely did not know until this research was conducted.

If you are ever to visit Iceland there is an area where two tectonic plates touch and reach the surface. Some people even snorkel between the two plates. Another unusual thing is in a small town in Italy there is a wine fountain for free.  This fountain is open to travelers and free wine attracts a lot off visitors.

Lastly a stat that blew my mind was 60% of the worlds lakes are in one country. In Canada there is more then half of the worlds lakes in the one country!

This week I am going to talk about the  most popular travel destination in the US. Although it is not international it is still a popular destination for tourists internationally. New York City is not just a popular place for Americans can go to but it also attracts tourists. Some of the popular attractions are Time Square, The Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building,

Time Square is the center of technology and stores where there is a sign on every building. An extremely commercialized area. The New years eve ball drops in times square which attracts a crowd every year.  The Statue of liberty is an american Icon. The copper statue is one of the first things immigrants saw coming to the U.S located on an island right in the harbor. The Empire State Building  is an iconic 102 story sky scraper.

New York City has a lot of attractions known world wide in one area and that is why it is such an easy tourist destination with so much to do.
